I tried to fix my DVD drive as a Primary Slave, but the hardware, but it didn't read. It only reads when I fix it as a Secondary Master. I have a Seagate 40GB as my Primary Master. And when I tried to attach my SAMSUNG 40GB along with my seagate, with Samsung as the Primary slave, it wouldn't read. After changing buses, I tried the same again - it didn't work. I have a P4 2.8 GHz, with a D101Ggc chipset. Can someone help me out ? My DVD Writer is a Sony.

I think there will be no problem if you put your DVD drive as secondary master. neway set the HDD's jumper to master and DVD's jumper to slave and connect it to the Primary IDE.
so the configuration will be
HDD - Primary master
DVD - Primary Slave.
