hi i am using mcafee 8 virusscan pro as my av soft.After installing it i found it installed a practically meaningless mcafee security centre which si memory consuming.Is there any way i can stop sc from startin automatically every timr i start windows xp without disturbing virusscan pro

use version 9

check if the particular file u want to disable is in admintool services , or msconfig services , the former is prefered

Sidewinder.......there is an option whether to have Mcafee to Auto Start or not. Check the Control Panel.

go to RUn Type this
msconfig
go to startup
remove the entry of that AV loader it attempts u to restart do that! it wont load in any more!
