Thanks for d info but I personally do not like linspire. I'd really love knoppix. I installed it in my hadr drive and am working from it now, its the best live cd I find.

In Live CD, Knoppix is the BEST, I think?

Yeah and another great thing is they have a great compression technique cos of which they are able to give software about double the size of the cd. I heard that their DVD contains about 10GB of software, I'd like to get my hands on it.

Don't see it forthcoming any time soon. They have been keeping away from linux a lot lately also, there are tons of other distros demamded by members plus you have special issues 1-2 times a year. So, am hoping for some other way. I found out through online sellers but they charge too much. The least was around Rs. 150 and I find it a bit high.

I do buy that mag every month. But, still No knoppix DVD from anyhwere. I tried out the linspire live cd given by them, it was my worst experience with linux.

You can order tons of Ubuntu CDs for free. Ubuntu is free but not app rich so i prefer Knoppix to Ubuntu

Ubuntu is application rich if you configure apt-get correctly setting various repositories.U can find almost all packages Debian have, which knoppix only can dream.AND Linspire is a bekaar distro which wants to run propreitory over Free..they want money for every prog, subscriptions etc..their CNR is a looting factory running on web..though it is stable as debian based and mocks a lot from WIngoo$e OS for prospective windows migration.I heard they started a free version squiggle, but no info about that now! :(

Well prakash we are talking about live cd's here so Knoppix topples Ubuntu by a big margin here. Otherwise if we install them on our hard disks, they will be basically the same as both are debian based and both are derived from debian testing.
