Is there any way by which i can draw power from my USB or serial port or for tht matter my printer port by the means of some kind of attachment so tht i can connect my 9V router to it.
coz i want tht wen my pc shuts down i get disconnected from my isp.

wen the pc shuts down lan does get disconnected but u r still connected to ur isp as the router is still working and thus u r still online.i have checked this.thus even if ur pc shuts down n if ur router is on even after 8 am ur nite MB get counted in ur day usage

So if i cud draw power somehow from the cpu for my router thn i cud thn use autoshutdown s/w for shutting down the pc at a specified time ie. before 8am.

ankurgupta.me... i dont know what exactly u are trying to explain... but if u want to ti use yr PC Shutdown as a switch to power down somethig...
in that case draw the power from the USB as sunmysore said and give it to RELAY switches. (U should have some electronics background.. or use google) this will solve yr problem
