hi guys. i was reading an article at tomshardware http://www.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20051129/ati_and_nvidia_dual_card_slugfest-02.html and i saw that nvidia had released series 80 drivers which allow users to put two unidentical gfx cards.does this mean that i would be able to put a gainward 6600gt with an xfx?
also ati released its catalyst5.11 drivers which eliminates the need for the crossfire master card. does this mean that i would be able to put two x800xl without the need of one of them being crossfire?

1. Yes you can combine nvidia cards from different brands and run them in SLI. However, the GPU should still be the same, eg. an XFX 6600GT should be combined with a Leadtek 6600GT only, you cannot combine it with a 6800GT.

2. AFAIK, the need for a crossfire master card has been eliminated for the X1300 and X1600 series cards. Not sure about the X800 cards.
