error when using applications

[dittualex]

im using win XPsp2
256MB ram(128*2)
when computer boots,it shows 256 ram
when certain applications are runned,it reports errors
when the computer memory is used to a great extend it shows an error in a blue screen.
then the computer hangs
.
after removing a 128MB ram it worked peacefully
whether tht problem si the complaint of ram or the slot????

try removing the other RAM and keep the RAM on this slot.

if it still works, that means the slot is fine.
