As expected MTNL gave a real good gift to their Triband (http://mumbai.mtnl.net.in/triband/) customers by announcing new great plans and increasing downloading limit in current plans...

The new plans include:

New 512 kbps plans include

- DSL 599 - 1GB Download - Rs. 599
- TriB1199 - 2 GB Download - Rs. 1199

Other new plans include:

- TriB 200P - 256 kbps - 400 MB download - Rs. 199
- TriB Cyber A - 2 mbps - 18 GB download - Rs. 9999
- TriB Cyber B - 1 mbps - 12 GB download - Rs. 7199

They have also made download limit to double in all old plans...

I am really impressed by the MTNL triband guys...speeds are damn good, rates are very decent compared to other ISPs...and now they surprised everyone by offering double download limit at the same rate....

Very impressive business plan....

Checkout their site for more info: http://mumbai.mtnl.net.in/triband/htm/tariff.htm

590NU is appreared to be a good bet ..
256kbps ... 1GB + Night Unlimited(0000 to 0800) for Rs.590/-
+
80 as rent for modem/router

..

But still no plan with unlimited usgae on fixed price.

My fav plan is 2mbps with 18 gig download limit and it is just for 10,000 rs...

In our old office we pay around 15-16000 for 512kbps ADSL connection with around 6 GB of usage...TATA ADSL charges are very high...they charge Rs. 3500 per month for router and setup..

hey cooooooool (:
but they didnt make all the download limits double.
for my plan(256 kbps, 400 mb d/l) the made the limit 700 mb.
also for xtra d/load,they charge only Re. 1/mb.

Thats very good for office use but not for home users.
Doubling the limit is OK on the part of MTNL.
But for triband home users the greatest news
would be when they will provide unlimited bandwidth
without any restrictions like the local cable operators.

Those are good plans, I am quite interested in the DSL NU 256kbps at Rs 590 plan, but I wish they would start their night hours from a saner time like 10 pm.

12:00 clock is much more saner than 2:00 clock timing of BSNL

should night plan actually be a 12 hour plan. say from 8-8..
anyways ya i would really appriciate if they would change the night timings.. as when i use bit tornado i ave to stay awake till 12( which acutally is no big issue atall) :P ..
but actually otherwise you can schedule your downloads tostart at 12 ... i do it on flashget everynight... and its possible to do it on azureus and also on bit comet.
