In simple words - NOD32 is the BEST Anti-virus, certainly better than Norton and McAfee.

I wont say NOD32 is the best. No AntiVirus is the best.
As far as NOD32 goes, it has excellent detection, the BEST heuristics in the business, a good-looking but slightly complex interface. It has daily updates, but not so much on Saturdays and Sundays.

BTW, McAfee VirusScan 9.0 is somewhat resource-heavy, but not much on my PC.

NOD32 is a good choice, but since you mentioned resource usage I suggest you download a trial of FPROT before deciding. It always gets a 100% in AVBulletin tests and on a good day it won't use more than 2 megs of RAM (6 megs max).

And also, a single personal license of F-Prot allows you to use it on five computers! :D
