How come this is related to piracy...

You are entitled to backup, or edit ur windows CD the way u like, u have rights to customize and reburn ur windows CD and this is in no way piracy...

About original question...use nLite....just google....u can also customize ur winXP using it...

The following link will tell you how to slipstream Service Pack 1 into your Windows XP boot cd. The same technique works for Service Pack 2 (I've tried it).

As far as I can know, the error occurs due to physical damage to the cd such as scratches. You can contact Microsoft & they might replace it for you.

Most probably both the setup cds are unreadable.

And where do you get this error?

cant find g:i368\win9xmig\icm\symbols\retail

i368?

Get yourself another working copy of XP setup and then you can try with the tutorial which aadi has posted.

Nlite requires Microsoft .NET Framework installed to work properly.

gary4gar's question clearly implies both of his WinXP CDs have physical errors/ scratches. No other problem.
