I have overclocked my XFX Geforce 5200 to 275/380Mhz without any problems through Rivatuner. After I used Rivatuner, the overclocking through Nvidia's control panel became available. There was an option of detecting optimal frequencies and when I tried that the driver tried to o/c it to 375/412 but that was not stable. The machine restarted when I tried to run Doom3. Anyway, I think it can be o/c some more after 275/380, although I have not tried.
Download Rivatuner and you can try this setting. Since I am buying a new graphics card, I decided to experiment with Rivatuner.
Best of luck.
