How do I connect to LAN's

I have a 16 port switch with one free slot and a 8 pin switch also with one free slot.
How can i connect these two switches.
The distance between these two is around 100m.

Do I need a repeater?

Also Can anyone please tell me the exact color coding for connecting RJ-45 pin to a CAT5 cable?

nikhil, its very easy to connect 2 switches all u have to do is to interexchange orange wire with green one in the previous color coding n u r on.
there is simple funda in connecting switches connection frm switch 2 comp is parallel n connection betn switches are direct.
