Hi Friends :P

got few options to pick up a DVD writer from the US thru a friend..need some advice..


PIONEER 16X DVR-108 DOUBLE LAYER DVD±R/±RW DRIVE BURNER 89 $ + 17 $(shipping)
and the NEC 2510A abt the same rate 81 $ and abt the same rate for shipping... :roll:


another one is nec 3500a 16x dvd+/-r/rw dvd dual layer burner 85$ plus 15 $ shipping



which one is preferred and is the price worth it?

cheaper than what ull get here
the options arent that good. .. but id go for pioneer between the 2

go for pioneer . pioneer and liteon r the brands making waves in us currently

Nec 3500 is the best drive out there. The Pioneer 108 is also pretty good. Forget crap like sony, tdk, liteon etc. LG is okay and samsung is useless. If you want a drive that will burn media available in india you have to get the pioneer or nec. Nothing else will work. Plextor is also rather good. You wont ever get past 8X as you cant even get good 4x media in india but its good to know it can do it. Are you sure shipping is so cheap? I paid around $50 to ship just a few home vcd's, tape to vcd transfer of some weddings. And customs (indian) charged around $100 on them. So I am reluctant to ask anyone to ship anything.
