dvd drive not functioning: pizz help

i have a samsung sd616e dvd drive.
since some days it has stopped reading dvd's, it is reading cd's correctly.
HELP
even power dvd does not help
when i insert any dvd (digit dvd) it shows that there is no disc in the drive the little light fluctuates.

well bud..dvd drives have a very bad habit..that they bcome useless ..if they r moved fm here to there ....so if u like to cary ur ROM in Pocket fm here to ther..then u sud get it chkd fm the vendor.....if not....get a lence cleaner CD ..run it ..and see if it works or not...

Try updating ur firmware.
