Prob.. in WinXp sp1

I Install two Os in my system win98 and winxpsp1.
when i start winxpsp1 the computer scan the d drive and stop on 0%
and no any response. can some one tell me what i do because i have to much data on winxp and i do not want to format d drive. but i start winxpsp1 without scan it start normaly tell me what i do.

Please elaborate which scan are you talking about.

so dont scan the drive when ur compute starts or use any third party program.
secondly i think the question should go into q/a section.
u can do another thing- upgrade to sp2. and then check if the problem persists.
