There are very small problems with ODF technically but compared to OOXML you can say for every 1 problem in ODF there is 999problems in OOXML

That's because they want to continue covering up the mess they created at ISO. You see, after a normal ISO final vote, there is a time period of 2 months within which countries can appeal against it. And for countries to appeal against it, they need to have a copy of the final voted upon format that the ISO has to release to the member nations within this 2 month period. And just like the way MS stuffed ballots at the ISO, they have so far stopped the ISO from releasing the final format the everyone voted on. This in-turn means that the since no one has seen the final format, they can't appeal against it within the 2 months of appeals process. This is the first time that ISO has with-held the final format during the appeals process and it comes as no surprise. For more on this read

Hence like always, they want to cover up that by doing something good in the eye of the public so that they can throw sand in our eyes. Nice try
