Then i think, your BIOS is very old, since you say its a Celeron 400Mhz.. You might want to upgrade your motherboard firmware to get rid of all the problems.

For making a boot floppy, look inside your dosutils folder. You will see some kernel images.. look for a floppy boot file. and then use the rawrite.exe utility to write the boot floppy...

The CD might also be having documentation on how to use the boot floppy using rawrite utility.
