I was facing similar problems few months back, tried lot of things like CCleaner, Maxregistry cleaner, scanned the system with different spywares, done hijack this, but none worked. Then i googled and found many facing similar problem, UPHclean seemed to solve the slow shutdown problem.

Earlier my system took around 1min to 1.5min to shutdown, but after i installed the UPHclean it solved my problem, now my system shuts down in less than 5 sec.
