Spamers are scammers now. I read in the news paper recently that a bangalore doctor got a mail stating that she was selected for a higher post in a hospital at England, Later they asked for some money to be transfered as a insurance fee.. she sent the stated money ( I think it was $700+ ) , later to realise it was a fake.
Now considering how many resumes/contact that spammer got from monster.com .. he can easily send many fake job openings to members of monster and if any one falls in this trap, the spammer can then ask for a insurance fee or something like that and then flee with the money.
I have have used monster and other job sites ( as a recruiter ). you cannot immagine how much data is available there.
