A dirty install is one the surest ways of making a system run worse than it already was. Your best bet is to do a complete format and then do a clean install and restore your programs. If you want to go ahead with the format option, there's a couple of things you need to do, including backing up important data and settings to another drive, checking which hardware and drivers you have installed in your computer and making a note of which driver CDs/floppies you have, making a note of all installed programs, etc. If you want to go ahead with this, let us know and we will guide you through the process.
