Now that's true, overclocking those prescott with stock air cooling is a challenge in itself.
And yes those fans with molex connector can't be controlled but the fans which have 3-pin connector (red, black and yellow wire) can be controlled.
But installing lots of fans doesn't really lower the temps., it's a good airflow which helps in cooling. Also if the wires are a mess inside the cabby, firstly do some cable management.

If you are serious about overclocking that proccy then do get some third party cooler.
