Default Re: New Amd Rig

the price difference between amd x2 4800 and amd x2 5000 is not justified....if ur going for x2 5200 @ 8k then please go for x2 5200+ arnd 8.5k (u will get 2 mb cache memory) or else go for x2 4800 for arnd 6.5k and save the 1.5k and invest on smps or some other stuff...if u still wanna go for x2 5000 then go for x2 5200 for only 500 rs extra...

b.t.w i am buying my pc tom: see wat i m buying

1) amd x2 4800 = 6500
2) biostar amd 690g= 4200
3) 1 gb ddr2 667 mhz= 2500 (price offered to me in kolkata
4) 160 gb hard disk - 2500
5) cabinet+smps- 3000 (invest on a good spmps as it will help in long run)

total comes to arnd 18700 and with 4% vat comes to arnd 19500!

now compare this with intel config:
1) intel core 2 duo E6420 - 10000
2) msi neo f- 5700
3) 1 gb ddr2 667 mhz= 2500 (price offered to me in kolkata
4) 160 gb hard disk - 2500
5) cabinet+smps- 3000 (invest on a good spmps as it will help in long run)
6) graphics card- appx 2000 (coz the mobo doesnt come with integrated gfx)

total - 25700 and and with 4%vat it comes to 26800 appx

now to compare the two the difference in price is roughly 7500 rs ...which is not justified if you are going to use it moderately for home in day to day life...also it was said by anandtech that E6400 was between amd 4600 and amd 5000 in performance so i dont think u will miss out on a huge deal for the given price...this is when u dont overclock i.e comparison at stock speed...
so decide which config is more sensible for guyz with a budget!
