Hmm.. Why do I think the above posts are contradictory??
You say the Writer just doesn't read any blanks OR old written DVDs (burned using the very burner) ?
But it does recognise CHIP/Digit DVDs..
Seems the Writer's days are numbered ..
. As a last resort you could try updating the firmware( but that'd deem any sort of warranty void)
If the Writer's in its warranty period, try RMAing it.
