First of all just connect any one of ur drives (either Samsung or Liteon) and start ur PC and let it detect it in BIOS and also in My Computer. Now shut down and connect the other drive.

Be sure to check the Jumper setting please...
And see in BIOS if this is also detected.
IF not...then possibilities:

Remove the CMOS battery and insert it after gap of 5-minutes.

IDE Cable gone corrupt.Buy a new cable.

Check Jumper setting.It may be wrongly adjusted.
At the last resort...

IDE slot gone corrupt.Give it to the Company service center.

Totally agree with u brother.. !! I myself hv a CD ROM and a CD Writer from Samsung and jus waiting till it reaches its Death.Till then im forced to use this.
