Here are some possibilities:
1. Check or replace the CMOS battery. Some motherboards can operate without a battery (they just cannot keep user settings), but they show weird behaviour with a weak battery. Remove it and test the voltage with a multimeter if you have one.
2. Disconnect and reconnect everything. (Turn off power and disconnect from the mains first!!). Everything means RAM sticks, PSU connectors to motherboard, gfx card, etc.
3. The problem could be heat-related. Most heat-related problems appear when the defective part has warmed up, but it occasionally happens that a defective part has to be warmed up first before it can work properly. To test for this, take a hair dryer, turn on the computer and blow warm air BRIEFLY on various parts of the computer (RAM etc) and see if it comes on.
