If it's similar in shape then it should work for connecting your PS3 to your LCD. Also make double sure the LCD you're buying is HDCP compliant.

EDIT: Just checked & you can get a BenQ E2200HD full HD monitor which has a HDMI port ready & is HDCP compliant as well. So no need to worry about converter & stuff like that. Just plug & play.
