D101 has inbuilt Graphics i.e ATi Xpress 200 and you are opting for nvidia 8400 .. Both VGA are supported by Linux.,. Get Mandriva or anyotehr distro that ship vga driver out of the box..
A piece of advice . get over D 101 and buy Intel G33 its cheap and way way way better than D101.. G33 would cost 2.5-3.5 k I guess ..
D101 doesn't support DDr 2 ram , and buying DDr now is lame. DDr2 2 Gb 800 mhz cost 1.5k
