MapMyIndia to unveil Android-based in-dash navigation system at Auto Exp

MapMyIndia will be unveiling what it calls India’s first internet-connected & Android-based in-dash GPS navigation system at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, which begins tomorrow. More details will follow after the launch.

For now, what’s known is the new MapMyIndia in-dash GPS navigation system will be called MapMyIndia Zx250, and have access to the Android Market. It will come with MapMyIndia Maps v7.0 pre-installed, with maps of over 4000 cities in India, as well as Aura, their new 3D navigation (20 cities) and house-level search (36 cities) software.

Rohan Verma, Director of MapMyIndia, issued the following statement about the new device:

“At MapMyIndia, we’re constantly innovating and building new technologies to provide a rich, confident and fun travel experience – spanning navigation map data, software and hardware – and this shows in our track record of releasing path-breaking products and services. The current announcements mark the next leap in what’s available to the Indian consumer. We’re excited to bring these innovations to market in partnership with car manufacturers, tier 1 system suppliers and our strong distribution network across India.”
