CONS

  • Lacks USB and Bluetooth connectivity
  • Weak camera

Summary

The Tech-Com T-31 is a feature-rich entry level dual-SIM cellphone that provides you decent value for money. The presence of dual-memory slot is its top selling point. However, the lack of Bluetooth and USB connectivity options is the biggest drawback. At Rs. 2,199, there is very little we could bargain for and mostly overlook its shortcomings.

Tech-Com has just joined the bandwagon of dual-SIM mobile market, with the release of T-31. As we have been witnessing more and more dual-SIM mobiles flooding the market, the competition is just getting hotter everyday. The T-31 brings a new dimension with the topping of dual-memory slots, that aptly complements the dual-SIM feature. It goes on to underline the fact that, there is a lot at stake for the entry level mobile manufacturers in the war of dual-SIM cellphones, as one tries to outshine the other.

Tech-Com's T-31 - sleek and trendy

The T-31 is coated with an attractive glossy black finish on the front and back-panels. The thin red plastic strip coated in metallic red runs across the contours of the body and adds a nice contrast against the black keypad with ridged partitions coated in red. Also, the navigation control dial with the centre select button coated in metallic red, adds to the beauty of the cellphone. It weighs just 80 grams and it aptly justifies the sleek form-factor with light-weight design.

The ordinary build quality of the battery cover, hurts your fingers while removing it. The marked nail grip is too small and the battery cover isn't flexible enough for a smooth removal process. Removing the battery cover and the battery reveals two GSM-SIM slots and two microSD memory slots. There is a camera with lens cover/sticker located at the top of the battery cover and one power port at the bottom surface of the cellphone.

The keypad layout incorporates an isolated keypad design, with ridged partitions separating the keys into four rows and three columns. The isolated keys provide comfortable room for navigation and also enable quick & accurate typing. The keys are quite responsive to the user input and deliver consistent tactile feedback. The menu interface and navigation system is simple and well organised. Overall, the sound ergonomics and keypad design yield satisfactory results.
