Sony Ericsson has announced two new Bluetooth headsets, slated for an August release. Unfortunately, no pricing details are available as of now.

Sticking by its tagline of “Talk.Play.Listen.Go”, Sony Ericsson has a whole bunch of Sony Ericsson Extras (the new name for its accessories portfolio) lined up for its users. Highlighting how their Extras add a new dimension to Sony Ericsson handsets, Peter Ang, Vice President, Marketing, Asia Pacific region, went on to say “As part of our Communication Entertainment strategy we have listened closely to consumers and their needs when developing our handsets and this ethos is no different in our accessories division. We want consumers to experience their mobile phone to its highest potential and Sony Ericsson Extras will enable them to find the perfect accessory for their needs.”

As mentioned, the Sony Ericsson Extras will fall under four of the company’s USPs, Talk, Play, Listen, and Go. Talk accessories are meant to provide an enhanced voice experience, which include Bluetooth and wired handsets. Play accessories include those products that turn handsets into playing devices (no word on what these will be!). Listen accessories include Bluetooth speakers, headphones and snap-on speakers. Go accessories will feature those products that will help users transfer data/media, charge on the go, or carry their handsets around.

The two new handsets, part of the Talk range, are the VH110 and the VH410, which will join the VH700 Bluetooth Noise Shield Handsfree as part of Sony Ericsson’s GreenHeart family (those energy-efficient products that are also made from eco-friendly materials, like the Naite).

The VH110 is the ultra-affordable (no prices known just yet) variant, and comes with a choice of three earpieces to offer the most personalized comfort. It supports 10 hours of use on a single charge.

The VH410 “guarantees crystal-clear conversations and super simple call handling,” and has noise cancellation technology and a one touch interface, and also offers the ability to connect to two mobile phones at once, whilst also toggling between calls.

Peter Ang also described how the company will be focussing on developing open accessories that can be used with a variety of different handsets from different mobile manufacturers: “We are continually working on more open platforms and Bluetooth is just one good example of how the Sony Ericsson Extras can be used with any Bluetooth device – not just Sony Ericsson handsets. Through Sony Ericsson Extras we want to make talking more enjoyable with more choice and more affordable options.”
