The Motorola Droid Razr was launched recently, and now it seems that an upgraded version of the Droid device is already in the works. The upcoming Droid device is likely to be called Motorola Droid Razr Max. According to a Pocketnow.com report, the information emanates from a Verizon employee, who told a customer that the company will soon be launching a Razr Max. The new version will be thicker than the Droid Razr, as it will have a larger battery. 

The report further states that they have found more information about the Droid Razr Max in some EXIF data. According to the report, the data features the photos to be taken from a device named Motorola Droid Razr Max. The new device should not be confused with the old flip called Motorola Razr Maxx, which had an extra 'x' and no Droid trademark. Meanwhile, the GSM Arena in its report speculates that the Razr Max could be one of the recently leaked China-bound Razr versions, perhaps the XT928.

Rumours of the new Droid Razr Max come in the backdrop of complaints related to the battery life of the newly launched Droid Razr, which is also dubbed as the world's slimmest phone. It was long rumoured that Motorola would soon come up with a handset that has a larger space for battery. Is the new Droid Razr Max successor to the Droid Razr?
