Reliance brings first Windows Mobile 6.5-ready phone to India, the HTC Touch 2

HTC and Reliance Communications today launched the new HTC Touch2, the company’s and India’s first touch phone embedded with Microsoft's newly released Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.

The HTC Touch2 ensures that everything is at your fingertips in an attractive design that fits comfortably in your hand. HTC Touch2 comes equipped with the upgraded TouchFlo user interface that presents another enjoyable experience including 11 color icons and the weather clock on the home screen for you to intuitively get the local time and weather. The Touch2 is also equipped with an internal GPS antenna that can support satellite navigation solutions including Google Maps.

Superior mobile internet experience

HTC Touch2 Opera Mobile and IE Mobile provide you an accurate display of desktop style Web pages, allowing you to view pages conveniently. The Zoom Bar (see image gallery) allows you to easily swipe your finger on your browser page or photo to view contents in an optimum size.

Powered by the new Windows Mobile 6.5, the HTC Touch2 is enhanced with a wide variety of applications that enables powerful messaging, browsing and productivity capabilities. You can also download innovative games and practical applications all from the Windows Marketplace. In addition Microsoft’s new My Phone service enables you to automatically back up and synch photos, music, contacts and text messages for free from the Touch2 to the web.

Pricing & Availability

The HTC Touch2 (detailed specifications here) will be available at a market price of Rs. 24,490 in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and Rs. 22,490 for the Rest of India at all leading authorized HTC resellers across the country.
