The specifications of the next most awaited phone, based on the upcoming Android 2.0 'Eclair' platform, the Motorola Droid have now seen the light of day. The phone specification were 'accidentally' released on Motorola's US website, and screenshots of the same were captured by BoyGeniusReport.

The specifications are indeed delicious:

  • Sliderphone with full QWERTY keypad
  • 3.7" touchscreen (480x854 resolution)
  • 550Mhz processor
  • Android 2.0 OS (Stuff that hasn't come out yet; always much cooler)
  • 5MP camera with dual-LED Flash
  • Video capture upto DVD resolution (720x480) at 24fps
  • The whole range of sensors: Proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer
  • WiFi
  • GPS
  • 16GB storage (via pre-installed microSD card, expandable to 32GB)
  • Over 6hrs of talk-time
  • And.. an HTML5 browser with Flash 10 support coming in 2010!

For a more detailed look at the specification check out these screen-shots from engadget

That HTML5 browser sounds exciting, as it seems more like a feature of the Android 2.0 browser than the Motorola Droid specifically. This is some juicy bit of information about what the Android 2.0 era will look like. Let's hope it will be enough to resuscitate the Android Market.
