HTC Verizon - World phone

Seen above in leaked photo from AndroidGuys, the scarlet red prototype is reportedly the HTC World phone, rumoured to hit the market in 2011 on Verizon. The rumour says it will ship with a 4-inch display, a QWERTY slider keypad, and a 1.2 GHz CPU (no word yet about the model name), apart from support for both CDMA/GSM networks across the US & overseas.

In related news, HTC's Desire HD is also rumoured to make its appearance around the corner. Codenamed the HTC Ace, it reportedly sports an aluminum unibody design mirroring the looks of the HTC Legend and matching the configuration characteristics of HTC EVO 4G except for the RAM size. The Desire HD will supposedly have a massive 4GB of RAM, as well as a 1GHz processor, and the latest version of Android -  “Froyo” or Android 2.2 - all of which go a long way towards providing a responsive user interface, more than comparable with the iPhone 4/3GS. The phone will also feature a 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels, apart from XviD video playback support, an 8MP camera, and 720p video recording and playback. However, the absence of a trackpad on this model is quite a disappointment, especially when it is available on other HTC models. Let us hope that HTC does not keep us waiting for too long on this one! Check out a video below:
