You saw the lightning, and if all other things remain the same, it’s time to hear the thunder! Dell’s new Android 2.1 phone, Dell Thunder, is the company’s answer to HTC’s excellent range of Android devices, and features Dell’s custom and customizable Stage UI, but in a different form from we’ve seen of the Aero or the Streak.
Featuring the same 4.1-inch WVGA OLED and capacitive multi-touch screen as the Dell Lightning, Dell Thunder has a better camera, with 8MP as opposed to the Lightning’s 5MP. Unfortunately, this particular leak is not as substantial as the last, and is missing the specifications sheet, so we can’t tell you much more about the device, other than the fact that it is a integrated WiFi+3G device with full Flash support, and will have integrated web video apps of Hulu and YouTube, as well as Facebook and Twitter applications. It also features the Swype text-entry system, ActiveSync, cloud based storage, and on-device image/video editing.
The Dell Thunder will be releasing at approximately the same time as the Dell Lightning, i.e., Q4 2010, and if the company wants to create an authentic storm in the market, it might get the sequence right, with Lightning before the Thunder.
Dell Smoke

Featuring Google’s latest mobile OS, Android 2.2 or Froyo, Dell’s latest phone codenamed “Smoke” has a whole bunch of fancy UI and form factor features in a “non-conforming style”.
Proposed to launch at a price that “won’t break the bank”, the Dell Smoke is 12mm thick and has a 2.8-inch QVGA screen and a “curved glass” design. Along with an integrated QWERTY keyboard that certainly looks different, the phone also sports a dedicated search button. Unlike the Dell Thunder, the Dell Smoke will release only by Q2 2011, and also unlike it, its leak features a specification sheet:
CPU: 800MHz MSM7230 Qualcomm processor
OS: Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Form Factor: Portrait QWERTY tablet
Screen: 2.8-inch QVGA TFT
Camera: 5MP AF Camera

Storage: up to 32GB microSD

Network: WCDMA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA/HSUPA

Misc: Touchpad navigation, accelerometer, digital-compass, proximity sensor, voice command/dial, Organizer, Document Viewer/Editor (Word/Excel/Powerpoint/PDF), speakerphone, fluence (2 microphones)
Dell Smoke will feature full Flash support, and along with Exchange and ActiveSync support, and blinding HSDPA speeds of 14.4Mbps combined with a host of connectivity and productivity options, the phone certainly looks to be competing with business phones, especially the BlackBerry.
Dell Flash

Another Android Froyo mobile from Dell, the device codenamed “Flash”, will be entering the market at approximately the same time (Q2 2011) as Smoke (again, the sequence should be right, Flash before the Smoke). It also features the same curved-glass design as the Dell Smoke, but has a capacitive touch screen instead of a integrated QWERTY keyboard.. Check out the specifications:
CPU: 800MHz MSM7230 Qualcomm processor
OS: Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Form Factor: Portrait Touch Tablet
Screen: 3.5-inch WVGA TFT
Camera: 5MP AF Camera with LED, image stabilization, video and audio record

Weight: TBD
Network: WCDMA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA/HSUPA
Video: H.264, MPEG4, WMV, video-editing, push-to-record via WiFi, TV Out
Audio: MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, Midi
Connectivity: WiFi (802.11b/g + UPnP/DLNA), Bluetooth v3.0 EDR, A2DP, AVCRP, HFP, VDP, OTA, FOTA, OMA DM, PC Sync, USB 2.0, 3.5mm headphone jack
Battery: 1300mAh, 12 hrs talk time and 725 hrs standby time
Misc: Predictive text, handwriting recognition, GMS HW compliant, accelerometer, e-compass, proximity sensor
Nearly identical to the Dell Smoke in functionality, it will feature full Flash support, and will be a touch business phone comparable to the iPhone. It will offer Exchange and ActiveSync support, and blinding HSDPA speeds of 14.4Mbps, combined with a host of connectivity and productivity options.
