Apple's 'Find My 'iPhone' App - with remote lock & GPS track feature

If you were thinking about some old Indiana Jones movie or Mackenna's gold, then you are taken for a ride! Because, Apple is not going to literally help you find a treasure mine, but rather your trustworthy iPhone. Nevertheless, Apple has reportedly launched the 'Find My iPhone' app on the iTunes App Store - a service previously limited to MobileMe's web interface. The App is apparently programmed to find your iPhone or iPad or iPod touch in case it's lost or stolen. That indicates, you wouldn't install it on your lost/stolen device, rather install it on a different iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch of yours or someone else's. The panicked owners are purportedly provided the privilege to login with their MobileMe account to map their missing property and then remotely lock the device or wipe the data. However, the major drawback is that, this App can only be installed on iOS 3.1.3 or later devices. But, the interesting part is that, it is currently available for free download as part of iTunes App.
