Apple has released an update for iOS, bringing it up to version 4.3.4, and fixing the infamous PDF exploit that was being used for jailbreaking any Apple device including the iPad 2. The PDF exploit was recently exposed through JailbreakMe 3.0. The browser based jailbreak supported iPad 1, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd and 4th gen.

However, Internet is abuzz with reports that the update is also vulnerable to the jailbreak. GSMarena.com says in its report that PwnageTool will still allow users to jailbreak most of their iOS devices, i.e., iPhone, iPod touch and the first generation iPad. It also says that the jailbreak is still not available for iPad 2. The detailed tutorial for supposedly jailbreaking iOS 4.3.4 is available here.

It's notable that Apple has been pretty quick to fix with the patch. The iPhone makers have always made their stance clear on jailbreaking. Moreover, the significant thing about the update is that it doesn't just fix up a jailbreak exploit but also a critical security hole.

The patch comes days after JailbreakMe 3.0 was launched.
