YouTube testing a Q&A feature called 'Video Questions Editor'
Google has of late released quite a few updates to its video sharing website, YouTube. The updates include posting real names for commenting and blurring technology among others. According to reports on the web, Google is working to make the video sharing website more interactive by introducing a new feature called 'Video Questions Editor'.
The new YouTube feature, currently available as an opt-in beta form, allows video creators to setup multiple questions to be displayed on top of their video during playback that a viewer can answer. The YouTube Questions Editor is available in the edit bar on the YouTube video edit page.
After the creator has added questions and the users have viewed them, he / she can see a summary of the interaction users had with them through the analytics page, within the Annotations section.
The feature was first spotted by a Dutch tech website called Websonic.nl, which says upon activating the Questions Editor, users see a new 'prompt' menu that directs users to the page created for adding queries to the video.
The beta page however features a disclaimer that the new tool could be something that YouTube is only testing and may not see the light of day. “There is no plan for long-term support of the feature and may be removed at any time without prior notification,” says Google on the beta page.
