YouTube's Flipkart integration is likely to set a new trend in the digital music industry. Also, it will discourage users from downloading music from unauthentic sources.
YouTube offers click-to-buy music from Flipkart's Flyte store

YouTube India has added Flipkart to its 'click-to-buy' feature that gives users a link to purchase the music from the stores instantly. YouTube had launched the 'click-to-buy' service in 2009 and already had Apple iTunes and Amazon's MP3 store integration.

It's not clear when Flipkart was added to YouTube India. However, the integration was first spotted by Medianama, which says it noticed while going through EMI music catalogue on the video sharing network. The Medianama report further points out that the rollout seems to be limited as not all EMI music featured click-to-buy.

The site also updates that YouTube India featured iTunes for buying music for quite some time. Here are some screenshots of the new feature shared by Medianama:

According to VCCircle, the download links are not restricted to the official channel. The site shares an example of this link for a song that hasn't been uploaded via the official music company. Here's a screenshot of the video:

YouTube's integration of Flyte, Flipkart's music service is certainly going to have a huge impact. While it will encourage users to download/buy songs from authentic sources, more more music companies in India are likely to associate with YouTube to sell/market their content.

Interestingly, Flipkart integration comes shortly after Google rolled out Books, Movies and devices on the Play store for India. Google already has a music streaming service called Google Music, but it hasn't been rolled out in India yet.

Digital music sales are arguably getting more popular than physic sales while a number of digital music streaming services like Gaana, Dhingana, Hungama and stores such as Flyte & iTunes are now offering digital music. Well iIn future, we may see similar integration with TV and Radio to buy music.
