Yahoo enhances performance and interface of Yahoo Mail with new beta
Yahoo! has revamped its mail service, with Yahoo! Mail Beta, which will be the first major overhaul in design in five years. Overall performance boost – The new Yahoo! Mail Beta was supposedly built with improved performance at its core, allowing users to manage their day to day personal and productivity tasks faster, and more efficiently.
Enhanced social networking and instant messaging – Yahoo! Mail Beta’s Facebook and Twitter integration will feed updates directly onto your “What’s new” page, and, allow you to post directly from there as well. Other social networks include Yahoo itself, and others. SMS capabilities have also been enhanced, along with instant messaging.

Improved multimedia consumption – Photos and videos can now be viewed easily directly from the inbox, and automatic slideshow features will be available for Flickr and Picasa. YouTube videos can also be viewed directly within the email message.

Improved search – Yahoo! Mail Beta’s new mail search tool will apparently help people quickly find their emails and other content, with better search refinement options.
Increased spam protection – Yahoo claims it is the “world’s #1 email provider in protecting users from spam”, and the new Yahoo! Mail Beta is apparently going to further that effort to provide a safer mail experience than ever before.
