RAD Data unveiled devices for Ethernet-ready networks
RAD Data Communications unveiled two unique demarcation devices that transform legacy infrastructure into next generation Ethernet-ready networks
RAD Data Communications, the Israel-based leading supplier of equipment and solutions for the transport of data, voice and signaling traffic in cellular and mobile applications, unveiled two unique demarcation devices that transform legacy infrastructure into reliable, economical, accountable, and limitless next generation Ethernet-ready networks.
By employing virtual concatenation (VCAT) to bond multiple STM-1/OC-3 links, RAD’s new state-of-the-art RICi-155GE and RICi-622GE Gigabit Ethernet demarcation devices leverage existing TDM legacy infrastructure to facilitate a fast rollout of next generation Carrier Ethernet services. IP DSLAM backhauling or high-capacity Ethernet service provisioning over SDH/SONET lines reduces capital expenditures (Capex) while supporting a balanced and scalable migration to packet switched networks (PSNs).
“Incumbent and alternative carriers alike can create new revenue-generating Ethernet service options through an optimized utilization of SDH/SONET circuits,” notes Shoval Bolotin, Senior Product Line Manager at RAD Data Communications. “The same solution also enables fiber-empowered operators to extend their existing Ethernet services to customers far beyond their fiber reach.”
