Digi-Link is conducting a series of 128 events comprising of trainings and seminars in A, B & C Class cities

Digi-Link, structured cabling brand from D-Link, has rolled out an exhaustive Seminar & Training Workshop Series. Aptly themed “Digi-Link – Be Ready for the future…Today” this series of Roadshows focuses on Training Digi-Link’s Corporate Customers, Empower System Integrators (EVSI) & Empower Value Added Resellers (EVAR). The Roadshow comprising of 128 Seminar & Training Workshops, took off from Kota, and will cover 66 A, B & C class cities across the country. It focuses on emerging technologies in Structured Cabling like 10G and IPLMS solutions.

Anand C. Mehta, Associate Vice President – Marketing, D-Link India said, “In this age of fast changing technology one has to stay informed about the latest technological developments and trends, this is of utmost importance to business partners who play a major role in advising the end-customer on the best technological solution to opt for. Digi-Link has trained it’s energies on helping its partners and customers choose the right type of technology today…so that they are ready for the future tomorrow. The Roadshows have been specifically designed to serve this objective.”

The event is structured into two sessions per city. The Day Session is a Training-cum-Workshop targetted at field and product support Engineers who design & implement structured networks. The workshop covers the SCS standards prevalent today, the best installation practices, latest technology options and also suggest how to arrive at the choice of a specific SCS technology. The Evening Seminar Session has content oriented towards IT Decision Makers - Typically CIO's CTO & vendor managers who are required to endorse the network design choice of their engineers. This would help them in understanding the latest trends in SCS technology and enable them to select the ones to invest in right now.

To explain the underlying theme of the Roadshows Mehta adds, “Be Ready for the Future Today” - You could call it our Moto for SCS or just pass it for a slogan. Catchy as it may sound it is the underlying philosophy that one must keep in mind for all Structured Cabling Deployments. Normally Active networking products like Switches have a product lifetime of about 3-5 years, primarily because of changes in technology and prevailing standards. One would normally upgrade the Server room infrastructure every 3 years, on the other hand the Backbone Cabling and the Horizontal cables that run upto the workstations remain unchanged normally for a minimum of 7 years, an average of 11 years and at times even for 15 years. This is precisely why Digi-Link offers a warranty that extends upto 20 years. Keeping this in mind it is easy to figure out that Structured Cabling installed today needs to last at least 2 if not 3 iterations of Active Networking Technology and hence…. we must be ready for the future technology………TODAY.”

Debraj Dam, Associate Vice President – SCS, D-Link India said, “These kinds of seminars form an ideal platform for having a one to one interaction with the Customers, SIs and Resellers. It also goes a long way to address their issues and concerns and thus forge a stronger vendor-business partner relationship.”
