D-Link selected as supplier for Tata
D-Link announced that Tata has selected it as its supplier for providing wireless access points and antennas for deployment of Wi-Fi hotspots across the country
D-Link India, India’s networking company announced that Tata Communications has selected D-Link India as its supplier for providing wireless access points and antennas for deployment of Wi-Fi hotspots across the country.
The company’s hotspots include the major domestic and International airports, leading premium Star hotels, educational institutions, sports stadium, hospitals, chain of restaurants and coffee shops. Its partners include companies like Taj Group of Hotels, Le Meridien, Café Coffee Day, Barista, Manipal University , Wockhardt, amongst others. Tata Communications has also been driving innovation through creating hotspots at non-traditional locations like Mobile Stores, IT stores, and Railway Stations.
“Tata Communications was looking for a solution where the features and functionality of the equipment and ability to remotely manage the growing number of hotspots were the key criteria for selection. We evaluated a number of potential suppliers and selected D-Link for deployment of indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi Access Points in our hotspots” stated Prateek Pashine, Vice President- Planning Retail Business at Tata Communications.
Mahinder Mansukhani, VP- Service Provider & Business Development, D-Link India stated, “It’s a great fillip to the Indian Wi-fi story. Combining D-Link’s unmatched product range in the wireless & broadband space and Tata Communication’s expertise in providing broadband services will enable seamless roaming and usage of wireless broadband for data, voice & video communications.”
