Nikon Coolpix P7000 is the Nikon's latest model in their Coolpix P series, which is about to come later this year, and has been exposed online. The site DPreview accidentally put images, specifications and pricing details about the product on their site yesterday. With P7000, Nikon wants to break through many conventions of the P range of digital cameras. As you can see from the image, the Nikon P7000 will have three image mode dials and a optical viewfinder...

The Nokia X2 has been officially released in India for Rs. 5,999. Representing the low-end of the new Nokia X Series, the entertainment phone runs on the Nokia S40 operating system. While it does not offer 3G capabilities, the 2-2-inch screen bearing Nokia X2 is still quite feature-rich, with dual speakers, stereo FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB-on-the-Go support, Nokia Messaging, native Facebook app and expandable microSD memory up to 16GB. The X2’s 5MP camera is undoubtedly one of its strongest selling points, outshining even the X3, which has a 3.2MP camera. The phone’s battery life is apparently very good as well, allowing for up to 27 hours of music playback, 13.5 hours of talk time, and 624 hours of stand by time. It supports MP3, WMA, eAAC+ audio...

Well Stardock’s Fences might just be the solution for you.The desktop is very convenient place to dump any content you are working on. Nearly all the applications you install create shortcuts on the desktop, and some create more than just the one. If you’ve used your computer long enough, chances are your desktop will be a collection of application shortcuts, documents, images, videos, urls, folders and more.Fences is an applications which helps you organize this mess, by creating —as the application’s name suggests— “fences” which border collection of icons. You can section off different areas on your...

Thunderbird is an excellent email client by the Mozilla Messaging, an offshoot of Mozilla which created the popular Firefox browser. It has one of the simplest mechanisms for adding new accounts wherein you just need to enter your name, email address and password in order to configure your email account. With webmail clients getting better by the day, it may seem like email clients are no longer useful. While it may seem so to a certain degree, email clients are far from useless even today. Many web mail services such as GMail provide even more features than a desktop client can manage, however they sill lack offline operation, which is quite important especially in India. Even otherwise, if you are using the email account provided by your organization or ISP it may not...

Most dual SIM, mobile phones come with the same boring procedure of swapping SIM cards using just software. The X600 does something radically differently - this function now has a hardware trigger using a built in motion sensor and dual microphones and speakerphones; one each on each end of the phone. All one needs to do is flip the phone upside down and it automatically swaps to the other SIM card installed. The motion sensor is gravity enabled, giving the phone its name. Fit and feel wise, the phone seems to be quite well built. The whole body is made of plastic with a brushed feel to the surface and a brushed aluminium bezel around the 3.2 inch touch-screen display. The call receive and end buttons are placed on the top and the bottom which make it very easy to use the gravity sensor...

With a Technology Qualification Vehile (TQV) in place, GlobalFoundries is currently optimizing its 28nm HKMG (high-K metal gate) process, and is ready to start producing processors based on the ARM Cortex A9 design for customersThe TQV was jointly developed by ARM and GlobalFoundries, and is apparently designed to allow for maximum frequency analysis and small turnaround time, by emulating its product - a system-on-chip - in every way. It will contain identical cell libraries and cache design as the A9 chip, in fact, its entire physical IP suite. The TQV will also provide a range of Design for Testability features that will enable better bit-mapping and path-correlation while testing at gigahertz speeds.Compared to its 40nm predecessor, the new ARM Cortex A9 SoC based on the 28nm...
